Project Description

It covers the provinces of Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep and Adıyaman, and within the scope of the project, it is planned to irrigate 60767 hectares by arranging Çetintepe Dam on the Göksu Stream and the surplus waters converted from Çetintepe Dam with the Harmancık and Çatboğazı dams. The scope of the project includes the following: Çetintepe Dam, Gölbaşı Tunnel, Aksu Regulator, Main transmission line, Haydarlı-1 Tunnel, Akedük, Haydarlı-2 Tunnel, Harmancık Dam, Çatboğazı Dam, Araban Plain Irrigation, Besni Plain Irrigation, Yavuzeli Plain Irrigation and Pazarcık-Köksalan Plain Irrigation. 

In addition to the original formulation of the 2015 Adıyaman Göksu Araban Project explained above, 1.52 m³ / s (48 hm³ / year) water was requested by Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality to derive from the Çetintepe Dam, which is the main unit of the project, to the Ayvalı Dam, which meets the drinking water requirement of the province of Kahramanmaraş. This situation has been handled within the scope of different scenarios and its results have been evaluated to investigate. On the other hand; According to the drinking water need in the planning formulation; While the 228.90 hm3 / annual drinking water requirement of Gaziantep province is considered to be met with the facilities that might affect the system, Düzbağ and Kartalkaya dams, the existing wells and the Mizmilli resources, 288.19 hm3 / years. In the new formulation, according to the old situation, the additional water load of 107.29 hm3 / year came from the updating of the drinking water needs of Gaziantep and Kahramanmaraş provinces. Operation studies have been updated by considering these new conditions of Kahramanmaraş and Gaziantep provinces. An integrated hydraulic system model is prepared to simulate reservoir operation modeling by WEAP software.
