Project Description
The purpose of this project is to rehabiliate 9 big irrigaiton plains of Malatya Plains with a total size of 75791 ha, which were opened to operation on various dates between 1949 and 1991 within the borders of Malatya province. (Akcadag, Dogansehir-Obakoy, Polat, Sahnahan, Sucatı, Sultansuyu, Yazıhan, Derme) by changing current classic type irrigation system to piped irrigation network system.
Within the scope of the project, bathymetric maps of four dam reservoirs were taken and land classification and drainage studies, water rights, agricultural economy and expropriation studies of the whole irrigation area were completed. Water supply calculations were made for 7 dams (5 existing, 2 in planning stage), 2 small dams (1 in current, 1 in planning stage) and 7 regulators and groundwater resources which constitute the water source of the projects. irrigation water and other water needs were also taken into consideration and integrated operation studies were carried out separately and including the whole system. Preliminary projects in the form of piped network of irrigation systems have been prepared, the quantity and quantity of all facilities have been found and the economy of the system has been revealed and the geotechnical and natural building materials and environmental impact assessment studies of the proposed facilities have been completed.
