Project Description
Dört Eylül Dam is located in Sivas province - Central Anatolia. The dam is constructed upstream of Sivas city, the river runs inside the town and discharges to Kızılırmak river following a 12 km reach crossing the settlement.
The project aims preparation of flood hazard maps for the main reach and its tributaries, identification of measures to control the floods, feasibility report and detailed design of proposed structures.
2-D hydraulic modeling is used for determination of flooded lands for different frequency floods, dam break analysis is performed as well.
Data was collected including digital terrain model, rainfall, river level and flow, soil type, land use, physical infrastructure, economic data, social services.
Nature based solutions were proposed (green environment around the river bed),
Prioritization of investment options for urban resilience were identified.
